Grade three students at Leicester Memorial School have the opportunity to participate in a Read-A-Thon sanctioned by Books and Beyond, a national program sponsored by the Department of Education.

Students are asked to record the number of pages they read independently on the forms provided by their teacher. Each form must be signed by a parent before being returned to school. For every 200 pages read, students will receive a prize and advance one stage on their journey to becoming a Gold Medal award Winner. After reading 1600 pages and advancing through all eight stages, students will receive a Gold Medal Certificate, in addition to the medal, in honor of their successful journey.
